Merry Christmas Smokers: Protest The Tobacco Tax Hike (Sydney) @ Pitt Street Mall

NATIONAL PROTEST: Merry Christmas Smokers – Sorry About The Tax Hike

Tony Abbott’s tobacco tax hike is an unwelcome Christmas ‘gift’ – join us in calling to return it for a refund!

Christmas stretches everyone’s budget, but jacking up the country’s most regressive tax will hit the poorest Australians the hardest.

Join us as we come together across the nation to show goodwill to all, to help ease the pinch, and to thank smokers for the huge amount of tax they pay by setting up Free Smoke Zones in a capital city near you.

Come show your support and ask us for a free cigarette – we’ll be handing them out (to over 18s only, of course).

The biggest and best liberty conference in the Asia Pacific Region is back – and with a new format designed to take #Friedman17 to a whole new level of awesomeness!

Join over 300 of the best and brightest libertarian thinkers, academics, and activists for a week of intellectual stimulation, education, debate and FUN!

This year, we are proud to announce a new format which will go beyond simply speakers and panels, and include interactive activities, competitions, debates and an ‘unconference’ session so that everyone can get the most out of this experience!

I am delighted to announce that tickets for the 5th Australian Libertarian Society Friedman Conference are finally on sale!

And if you thought the last few conferences were good, you ain’t seen nothing yet!

Out speaker lineup is better than ever, and we can now announce that we will be joined by the one, the only: NICK GILLESPE FROM REASON MAGAZINE!

Nick will be joining other superstars from the international libertarian community such as the world’s foremost public choice academic, Prof Michael Munger from Duke University, former Libertarian Party Presidential Candidate Austin Petersen, world’s greatest issues-campaigner and former Executive Director of the UK Taxpayers’ Alliance Matthew Sinclair, Director of the Brexit “Better Off Out Campaign” Rory Broomfield, and Australia’s own libertarian expat, the phenomenal and amazing Naomi Brockwell, and Hungarian Member of Parliament Zoltán Kész

Not to mention our stellar lineup of Australian speakers such as Professors Wolfgang Kasper, Suri Ratnapala, & Jeff Bennett, Theresa Moltoni OAM, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Queensland, Law Lecturer Lorraine Finlay, and former Liberal MP and commentator Ross Cameron

But that’s not all! WE’re changing the whole format of the conference around this year, with more hands-on interactive activities, in addition, to simply speaker sessions, and years conference will feature interactive campaign workshops, career advice sessions for students, fun performances, and A CHANCE FOR PARTICIPANTS TO WIN $5,000 by pitching a campaign in our liberty shark-tank (more on that later!).

Early bird discounts of up to $150 are now on offer, so get in quick and reserve your spot at www.friedman17.org !
